For your razor above, what did you use for the handle grip? I've been thinking of wrapping craft foam around the handle, but it doesn't seem to have much "grip". Easy to slip.

I actually used the bottom of an old black tshirt - I started by gluing it at the top with the finished edge pointing up, then I wrapped it around, covering the raw cut edge with each wrap, until finally at the bottom I folded the raw edge in and glued it tight. It looks pretty cool I think!!!

O_o... Wow... That's actually an easy solution. XD Here I've been wracking my brain, trying to figure out a good handle grip. It went from craft foam, to leather, then peeling an actual grip off a dagger. Thanks!

LOL! Sounds like how my usual thought process goes. Then I'll be sitting at work and all of a sudden I'm like "WAIT this is easy, why didn't I think of this earlier?" I try to think about things for at least a week before I actually make them XD

How did you make your mask? Was it removable or attached to your hood itself. Just today I bought 7 meters of red and black material and will soon be working on my own Dark Brotherhood cosplay. It's the mage version, but personally, I really, really like the face mask that's added to yours, I'm going to add one to mine if I have enough material left over.

It surprised me how cheap 7 meters of red and black material was XD A whooping $40. Of course, mine won't have any of the fancy gold buttons and such.

Hey Valky dear!! The face mask is totally separate. It's made of stretch red fabric (Make sure you get one you can breathe through!! It has to be a natural fibre like cotton) Here's a picture, I drew out exactly what the shape of my pattern piece looks like: [link] Just measure your nose-->chin and thats the length of that flat side (I did mine on a fold so there was no seam infront of my nose/mouth). It's important that you use a stretch fabric so it curves around your face. There is also a bit more forgiveness incase you make it the wrong size. I use velcro to close mine in the back but it isn't ideal. I can't really think of a better way though. Just make sure your velcro strip isn't too long (like 4 inches is probably enough) because otherwise it will bend awkwardly behind your head.

I'm soooo excited for your costume!! What kind of fabric did you get? I'm guessing it must be broadcloth from the price unless you got some sort of great bargain.

I haven't sewn anything since my highschool days in sewing lab XD *regrettably, I didn't excel there XD*. But I think I still remember the basics and there's always the internet.

It was already on sale, Halloween is coming up and that was the reason for it. Since it was my first time, the lady at fabricland gave me more than I needed. Lol, there was probably 4 feet or so more than I asked for, but I was probably going to need more than one attempt to make it. So she was nice enough to give me that much extra for nothing.

Since I was new to sewing and such, that's why she gave me so much extra material. Should anything go wrong, which it probably will, I'll have enough to spare. And all 7 meters is just for the coat, hood and sleeves XD

If I can find my camera, I'll put up some WIPs sometime in the next few weeks. Btw, thanks again, you're my inspiration for taking up the needle and thread and choosing the Dark Brotherhood as my very first cosplay, ever.
